What are the advantages of coreless motors compared to ordinary DC motors?

2023-12-16

The structure of the coreless motor breaks through the rotor structure of the traditional motor and uses a coreless rotor, also called a coreless rotor. This new rotor structure completely eliminates power loss caused by eddy currents formed in the iron core. So what are the advantages of coreless motors compared to ordinary DC motors?

1. High power density

Power density is the ratio of power output to weight or volume. Copper plate coil motors are small in size and have good performance. Copper plate coil mode induction coils are lighter than traditional coils. There is no need to wind and slot silicon steel sheets, eliminating the eddy current and hysteresis losses they generate; the eddy current losses in the copper plate coil mode are very small and easy to control, which improves the efficiency of the motor and ensures higher output torque and power.

2. Efficient

The efficiency of the motor lies in the fact that the copper plate coil method does not cause eddy current and hysteresis losses caused by winding and slotted silicon steel sheets. In addition, the resistance is small, reducing copper losses.

3. No torque lag

Copper plate coil mode slotless silicon steel sheet, no hysteresis loss, no cogging effect to reduce speed and torque fluctuations.

4. No groove effect

The copper plate coil is made of slot-free silicon steel sheets, which eliminates the slot effect caused by the interaction between the slot and the magnet. A coil is a structure without an iron core. All steel parts either rotate together (like a brushed motor) or are stationary (like a brushless motor). Groove effects and torque hysteresis are noticeably absent.

5. There is no radial force between the rotor and the stator

Because there is no stationary ferrite core, the axial magnetic field between the motor rotor and the motor stator cannot be found. This is especially important in important applications. The axial force between the motor rotor and the motor stator will cause the motor rotor to be unstable. Reducing the axial force will improve the reliability of the motor rotor.

6. Smooth speed curve and low noise

There are no slotted ferrite cores, reducing torque and operating voltage harmonics. At the same time, because there is no AC field in the motor, there is no noise caused by AC. There are only noises caused by rolling bearings and cyclones and vibrations caused by non-sinusoidal waveforms.

7. Good heat dissipation effect

There is often gas flow on the inner and outer surfaces of the copper coin coil, which dissipates heat better than the heat pipe of the slotted motor rotor coil. The traditional wire-coated wire is embedded in the slot of the ferrite core. There are very few airflows on the surface of the coil, and the heat dissipation condition of the heat pipe is poor and the temperature is very high. With the same power, the motor temperature of the copper coin electromagnetic coil method is smaller.
